Open A Locked Bedroom Door

If you find yourself locked out of your bedroom, there are a few things you can do to try and open the door without damaging it. Using a Credit Card or Butter Knife

If your bedroom door is locked with a simple latch lock, you may be able to open it with a credit card or butter knife. To do this, insert the card or knife into the crack between the door and the frame, and then gently pry the latch open. If the door is locked with a deadbolt, you will not be able to open it with a credit card or butter knife.

Using a Lock Pick

If you have some experience with lock picking, you may be able to open a locked bedroom door with a lock pick. Lock picks can be purchased online or at most hardware stores. To pick a lock, insert the pick into the keyhole and gently feel around for the pins. Once you have found the pins, you can use the pick to push them up and out of the way, which will allow you to turn the lock and open the door.

Using a Bump Key

A bump key is a special key that can be used to open a locked door without picking the lock. Bump keys are made by filing down the teeth of a regular key, which allows the key to be inserted into the lock and then "bumped" to open the door. Bump keys can be purchased online or at most locksmiths. To use a bump key, insert the key into the lock and then tap the back of the key with a hammer or other hard object. This will cause the pins in the lock to jump up and out of the way, which will allow you to turn the key and open the door.

Calling a Locksmith

If you have tried all of the above methods and you are still unable to open the locked bedroom door, you may need to call a locksmith. A locksmith can open a locked door quickly and easily, and they can also repair or replace the lock if necessary. The cost of calling a locksmith will vary depending on the time of day and the location of your home.
